I read with sadness the news of Larry’s passing… Although we hadn’t been in touch for well over 25 years, I clearly recall Larry as a sweet, funny, and kind man. Our families’ relationship grew as Karen became a regular “companion” for my children, Amy and Michael. Always considered a part of our family, Karen brought us close to her parents and to Shari (ever find that sno cone?) and Gary…
Sue, please accept our deepest condolences and know that we have often thought of your family over these many years.
Through all of the ice skating events, softball, and other times together, Larry was a wonderful friend to pass time with and always, simply put, a nice guy…

Larry was an extraordinary person. when someone speaks of a “mind like a steel trap” they were talking about Larry. Meet someone once, name stored. See print once, also stored. I had the honor to work with Larry on a number of occasions. No One can replace Larry at the L.G.H Physician’s Mailroom. I will miss him like a Brother.

Larry was one of my longtime volunteers at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. He served for many years and countless hours in the physician’s mailroom sorting and distributing mail. He made many friends and thoroughly enjoyed his volunteer service. And in turn, we valued and treasured his service and his friendship. Larry had an incredible memory and knew off the top of his head where each doctors box was and which doctors had a box and which didn’t. That’s pretty incredible considering there are over 1,000 mailboxes!! He was my “go-to” guy, the one who trained other volunteers and answered all their questions. We will miss Larry. We at Advocate Lutheran General send our deepest condolences to the Solomon family.
